Canoe Slalom European Championships 2025: Top Paddlers In Contention

Some of the world’s best paddlers return to Paris to compete at the Canoe Slalom European Championships 2025. The event will get underway from May 15-18. 

Following intense battle at Paris 2024, the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium will once again host Olympic champions like Nicolas Gestin or Giovanni De Gennaro.

Canoe Slalom European Championships 2025: Paddlers to watch

Men

In the men’s kayak single competition, Italy’s Giovanni De Gennaro will look to top the podium once more, and fend off the likes of France’s Titouan Castryck and Spain’s Pau Echaniz.

In the men’s canoe single competition, local favourite Nicolas Gestin will look to replicate the feat he achieved at Paris 2024 triumph. 

Other Olympic medalists Adam Burgess of Great Britain and Matej Benus of Slovakia, are set to pose a challenge. 

Slovenia’s Benjamin Savsek, Spain’s Miquel Trave and Italy’s Raffaello Ivaldi will be the other paddlers to watch out for.

Women

Poland’s Klaudia Zwolińska, who won a silver medal at Paris 2024, will be looking to top the podium at the Canoe Slalom European Championships 2025. 

Great Britain’s Kimberley Woods, Germany’s Ricarda Funk and Italy’s Stefanie Horn are other top contenders  in the women’s kayak single competition, however.

In the women’s canoe single competition, Andorra’s Monica Doria will look to win her first major senior title having finished sixth at Paris 2024.
