Champions League: Marquinhos gives PSG the lead against Man City

Paris Saint Germain’s defender Marquinhos flicked the cross and scored a header against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. PSG was all over the game after a slow start for the first 10 minutes. They controlled the ball well in the first half and shared possession of 46% with City. PSG created the best chance and they were looking very sharp in the City’s box area. On the other hand, the team from Manchester failed to create the chances they are famous for their movement in PSG’s box was not that good enough to put the ball past the net.

Angel Di Maria took a long-distance shot which was deflected of Rodri for a corner. It was PSG’s 2nd corner and Di Maria was all set to take. Di make provided an in swinger cross in the City’s box and Marquinhos flicked the cross and scored a great header. The city’s best chance came in the last quarter of the game when a miss pass went in the feet of young Phil Foden, he failed to convert it as he hit the ball straight in front of keeper Navas.

Manchester City showed some passing in the last quarter and will be hoping to come back in the game as any goal in this match will give them an away goal advantage. Pep Guardiola, the City’s manager has failed to reach a Champions League final since 2011 and he will be surely asking his team to play their best football.
