The UEFA Champions League has now reached the stage where every match feels massive, and the semi-final lineup is officially set. Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid have all come through demanding quarter-final ties, setting up two intriguing clashes with a place in the final on the line.
Bayern Munich were involved in one of the most entertaining ties of the round, getting the better of Real Madrid with a 6–4 aggregate score. It was open, intense, and filled with quality, but Bayern looked sharper when it mattered most, especially in the decisive moments across the two legs.
Paris Saint-Germain had a far more comfortable route. They saw off Liverpool FC 4–0 on aggregate in a tie where they looked in control from start to finish. Their attacking play was direct and efficient, and once they found their rhythm, Liverpool struggled to respond.
Arsenal’s progress came in a much tighter contest against Sporting CP. A 1–0 aggregate win might not stand out at first glance, but it reflected a disciplined and patient approach. Arsenal managed the tie carefully, limiting risks while doing just enough to get through.
Atletico Madrid rounded off the final four by beating FC Barcelona 3–2 on aggregate. It was a classic Atletico performance in many ways, organized without the ball and clinical when chances appeared. They handled key moments better and showed their usual resilience under pressure.

When the UEFA Champions League semi-finals get underway

The focus now shifts to the Champions League semi-finals, which begin at the end of April. The first legs are scheduled for April 28 and April 29, followed by the return fixtures on May 5 and May 6. Bayern Munich will face Paris Saint-Germain, while Atletico Madrid go up against Arsenal.
Both Champions League ties bring a clear contrast in styles. Bayern’s structured attacking play will be tested against PSG’s pace and creativity in the final third. On the other side, Atletico’s compact and disciplined system will look to disrupt Arsenal’s fluid passing and control.
At this stage, there is very little separating the teams. One mistake, one moment of quality, or even a single goal can shape the outcome of a tie. All four sides have shown they can handle pressure, which only adds to the sense that this could go either way.
With just two rounds left before the final, the margin for error is almost gone. The Champions League rarely disappoints at this stage, and with these matchups, it feels set for another memorable finish.
