New Zealand batter Kane Williamson grabbed the spotlight with his actions during the ongoing match against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The game is being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Kane Williamson Steals the Spotlight with Hilarious Reaction to Hardik Pandya’s Shot

Kane Williamson had a funny reaction after being hit by a shot from Hardik Pandya during the 45th over of the Indian innings. This happened on the 5th ball when William O’Rourke was bowling, and Hardik Pandya was struggling to score.

O’Rourke bowled a 143.9 km/h delivery that was full length and wide, with extra bounce. Hardik Pandya cut the ball hard, and it went straight to Kane Williamson at point. However, the ball came in quickly and hit him with such force that it caused him a lot of pain.

When Kane Williamson was hit, he gave an animated reaction, kicking around and flinching his hands to show how painful it was. The commentators couldn’t help but laugh, and soon the video went viral on the internet within seconds.

After his funny reaction, Kane Williamson made an incredible fielding effort to dismiss Ravindra Jadeja. He took a stunning catch, marking his second sensational catch of the match, having earlier removed Axar Patel with a brilliant grab.

Jadeja cut a delivery from Matt Henry, and the ball went to Williamson at backward point. Despite it dying down on him, he swooped low and caught it with his left hand to send Jadeja packing for 16 runs.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: New Zealand’s Impressive Performance Against India

New Zealand bowled well, putting pressure on the Indian batsmen from the start. Matt Henry was the star, taking a five-wicket haul and helping restrict India to 249 runs.

I think the way we came out there and the surface helped and put India under pressure. Very happy with the total but still need to do a big job with the bat. We talked about getting wickets and the pressure was getting us wickets. There are some ebbs and flows on this wicket and if we can put the pressure back on, that should help us.”
