His father, Kanjibhai, tested positive for COVID-19 virus and ever since the IPL 2021 got suspended mid-season due to breach in Bio-Secure bubble issues, Chetan Sakariya traveled back to his home place of Vartej Gujrat, to stand side-by-side his then ailing father. He was constantly assisting his family who were making arrangements for his hospitalized father.
Chetan Sakariya, earlier this year lost his younger brother to COVID-19 virus and in span of few months, now lost his father due to the same virus.
