China Reveals Roster For ITTF World Championships Finals Doha
The People’s Republic of China has announced their squad for the event with the world number one players in table tennis men’s and women’s singles, Lin Shidong and Sun Yingsha, respectively, set to headline the contingent.
The men’s team also includes world number two Wang Chuqin, world number five Liang Jungkun who will be accompanied by Lin Gaoyuan and Xue Fei as well at the ITTF World Championships Finals 2025 in Doha.
The women’s China squad is a force to reckon with. Each of the world’s top four Sun, Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, and Wang Yidi are included in the single’s team.
In the women’s singles final at the just concluded ITTF Women’s World Cup 2025 , defending champion Sun of China retained her title with a commanding 4-0 (11-9, 11-6, 11-9, 11-6) victory over compatriot Kuai Man. The world number one never looked troubled as she secured her second consecutive World Cup crown with a performance of clinical precision.

In men’s doubles in Doha, China will be represented by the two Lins, Shidong and Gaoyuan, as well as by Huang Youzheng partnering Liang. In women’s doubles, Chen pairs up with Qian Tianyi, while Wang Manyu is in a team with Kuai Man.
Olympic champions Wang Chuqin / Sun are joined by Asian champions Lin Shidong / Kuai in the mixed doubles event.
The table tennis players are set to train in Chengdu before heading to the World Championships.

This will be the first ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals since both men’s doubles and women’s doubles were re-added to the Olympic programme. Those two events will make a return at Los Angeles 2028, having last appeared at Beijing 2008.
