After the DC Open, the hard-court tennis action on American soil moves to Cincinnati Open in a major lead up to the US Open. 

IT the oldest tennis tournament in the United States still played in its original city. A combined ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event, it will bring other some of the best tennis players in the world

It is one of the major tennis tournaments of the American swing where the best players of the world battle out to gather momentum for the last grand slam of the year. 

This year the Cincinnati Open will be bigger and better than ever since it was incepted in 1899. One of the most anticipated tennis tournaments, the 2025 edition will expand to two full weeks and nearly double the field for its men’s and women’s singles draws.

Both the men’s and women’s tournaments will expand from 56 players to 96 players, a significant rise for one of the world’s premiere singles championships. The expansion will also increase the tournament duration from nine to 14 days. 

Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka — both world number one in men and women singles, respectively— will be looking to defend their 2024 Cincinnati Open titles. Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić won the doubles Final last year, while Asia Muhammad and Erin Routliffe took the women’s doubles. 

Even as fans are excited about the expansion of the tournament, the matches will be staged at the  Lindner Family Tennis Center which has undergone a $260 million facelift.

Numerous  upgrades have been made to the facility including increased fan amenities and entertainment options for the hundreds of thousands of fans who attend the event each year.

Cincinnati Open 2025: How to buy tickets; prices

There are two types of tickets to choose from each day – single-session grandstand passes or day-session grounds passes. 

Over the first few days of competition, the qualifying rounds, tickets can go as cheap as $8. Once it gets to Session 10, the ticket prices get higher going for closer to $50. Championship tickets are starting at $134 (grounds) and $350 (grandstand).

Cincinnati Open 2025: Dates, schedule 

The tournament will be underway from August 5-18, 2025. 

Qualifying rounds begin on August 5 while the main draw will take place on Monday, August 18 from the facility’s Center Court.
