The most recent addition to the list of injured athletes ruled out of the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup in 2022 is Dwaine Pretorius. After suffering a left thumb injury during the most recent T20 series against India, Dwaine Pretorius was ruled out and replaced. The cricket board of South Africa announced in an official tweet that left-arm quick Marco Jansen has been included in South Africa’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Earlier this year, in June, during South Africa’s tour of India, Jansen made his T20I debut. Additionally, tall left-arm fast bowler Marco Jansen has represented South Africa in three ODIs and seven Tests. On October 24, South Africa will play a qualifying team from the first round to start their season. Jansen was included in the roster of 15 for the T20 World Cup by South Africa’s (CSA) National Selection Committee on Wednesday. Jansen, who was previously a member of the travelling reserves, has been replaced by fast bowler Lizaad Williams.
Dwaine Pretorius, a South African cricketer, was a part of the recently concluded T20I series. He played the final concluding match of the three-match series and drove South Africa to a formidable victory against India. Dwaine Pretorius, who played a phenomenal innings in the just concluded T20I series against India, was an asset for the South African cricket team during the death over. Dwaine Pretorius has been the highest wicket taker in the recent T20 series against India.
On Wednesday, the cricket board of South Africa confirmed Dwaine Pretorius’s withdrawal from the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup tournament 2022 in an official tweet that read, “SQUAD UPDATE.. Marco Jansen has been named to South Africa’s 15-man # T20WorldCup squad.He replaces the injured Dwaine Pretorius. Lizaad Williams has been called up to replace Jansen amongst the travelling reserves. #BePartOfIt”
