Valve finally, announced after weeks of speculation Counter-Strike 2. Counter-Strike 2 will be an overhaul to the successful first-person-shooting (FPS) game, Counter Strike Global Offensive or CS: GO.
Counter-Strike 2 release date
Counter-Strike 2 is expected to launch in this year’s summer. Meaning that the game will hit the markets between May to June. The game could be delayed if any bug fixing is needed after receiving feedback from former professional players and popular creators.
Counter-Strike 2 pricing and supported platforms
CS 2 will adopt a free-to-play model just like its predecessor CS: GO. CS: GO also used to be a paid game but adopted the free-to-play model in 2018. Counter-Strike 2 will be available on PC. Valve is yet to comment on whether the game will be available on gaming consoles like PS5 or Xbox Series X.
Former players reaction
Counter-Strike 2 limited access was given to former professional players and popular creators. Tarik ‘tarik’ Celik and Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek are few among those who had the chance to play the much-anticipated game.
Tarik when asked about the game during one of his live streams said, “I think it is cool. I hope there’s more coming.” Counter-Strike is known for not making many changes in the game very often. Tarik even went on to say, “it is basically CS and it’s just a little different.”
Shroud on the other hand gave much more positive feedback to the game. The one feature that made Shroud happy was that a set of cards with aces will be displayed at the bottom of the new user interface.
Counter-Strike 2 was made using Valve’s new Source 2 engine. This new Source 2 engine is very popular in the gaming community as it has created some of the best titles including DoTa: Underworlds and Half-Life: Alyx. CS2 will include updated lighting thanks to Source 2, including a physically based rendering system. They can provide realistic materials, lighting, and reflections as a result. For now, the biggest question is except for PC where else the game will be available for the player?
