Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag had his first press conference ahead of their big pre-season game against Liverpool on Tuesday, 12th July at Thailand. Manchester United players and staffs are on a tour to Thailand for the pre-season and their striker Cristiano Ronaldo is not with them.
Cristiano hasn’t joined the squad yet not just for this pre-season tour but also for the team’s training. The reports suggests that the 38-year old Portuguese forward wants to leave the Premier League side Manchester United. As the side is not playing the UEFA Champions League next season and also there are not much transfers activity done ahead of the big season, Cristiano doesn’t want to stay.
Manchester United has signed only a single player so far. The lack of transfer activity may also be the reason Ronaldo doesn’t want to play for the club next season. Despite all this rumours, the manager Erik ten Hag who had his first press conference on Monday said that Cristiano is in their plans for next season and won’t leave the club.
“We are planning with Ronaldo for this season – that’s it. I’m looking forward to working with him. He hasn’t told me this. I have read, but as I say, Cristiano is not for sale, he’s in our plans and we want to get success together,” said Erik ten Hag on Monday as live telecasted on MUTV.
