The couple first confirmed they were dating in early 2017 and made their debut together at the FIFA Football Awards in Zurich. Since then, Georgina, a Spanish model and social media influencer, has been by Ronaldo’s side through his stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
So far, Cristiano Ronaldo has not shared anything about the engagement on his own accounts.
Cristiano Ronaldo Extends Al-Nassr Stay Until 2027
The personal milestone comes shortly after big professional news for the superstar. Cristiano Ronaldo has ended months of speculation about his future by signing a contract extension with Al-Nassr, keeping him at the Saudi club until 2027.
He made the announcement last Thursday on X, writing: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.” Al-Nassr quickly followed with their own confirmation: “Cristiano Ronaldo is staying at @AlNassrFC until 2027.”
Cristiano Ronaldo joined the club in late 2022 after leaving Manchester United and has been in incredible form, scoring 93 goals in 105 matches across all competitions. His move to Saudi Arabia was a game-changer, shining a global spotlight on the Saudi Pro League and inspiring a wave of other football stars to follow.
Rumors and a Cryptic Message That Went Viral
Rumors about him leaving picked up earlier this summer when his contract was set to expire, especially after he posted a cryptic message following Al-Nassr’s final match of the 2024-25 season: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
The chatter only grew when Al-Nassr finished third in the league, missing out on the Asian Champions League Elite. Despite that, Cristiano Ronaldo reached a huge personal milestone with 800 career club goals.
Adding to the uncertainty, FIFA president Gianni Infantino hinted last month that Cristiano Ronaldo might take part in the expanded 2025 Club World Cup. “There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup…who knows, who knows,” Infantino teased.
But Cristiano Ronaldo himself shut down that idea during a press conference before Portugal’s UEFA Nations League final against Spain. “It’s almost decided that I will not take part in the FIFA Club World Cup, despite receiving many invitations and proposals,” he said. “There have been talks, contacts…but you have to think about short, medium and long-term.”
