CSK vs RCB, IPL 2025: Virat Kohli Made A Stunning Comeback With Six And Four After Helmet Blow

CSK vs RCB, IPL 2025: At 36, Virat Kohli may have toned down his verbal aggression, but he’s still a powerful batsman. While he’s less focused on trash-talking opponents now, he can still outplay younger players with his batting skills.

Virat Kohli’s Powerful Response to Pathirana’s Bouncer

We’ve often seen the former India captain perform at his best after a run-in with an opposing player, and Matheesha Pathirana experienced that on Thursday (March 28) when Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore faced off at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Although there was no direct clash between Pathirana and Virat Kohli, the Sri Lankan pacer angered Kohli by hitting him with a sharp bouncer. On the first ball of the 11th over, Pathirana hit Kohli on the helmet, leaving the Indian star surprised by the delivery.

Virat Kohli Hits Back with a Six and Four After Helmet Blow

Pathirana quickly spoke to Virat Kohli, who responded with a thumbs-up. However, Kohli wasn’t going to let Pathirana have the last laugh. On the next ball, Virat Kohli hit a six. The pacer bowled another short ball, and Kohli pulled it for another six.

On the following ball, Kohli hit a four. But on the fourth ball of the over, he went for a drive, misjudged it, and only managed a single to long-on. Kohli was clearly upset with himself and hit his pad with his bat.

The former RCB captain also had an animated exchange with Pathirana at the non-striker’s end, showing that he was unhappy after being hit on the helmet.
