Daniel Ricciardo Back In Paddock After Retirement Announcement? Answered

3 Min Read

Formula 1 never really lets its stars leave the spotlight, does it? Right when fans thought Daniel Ricciardo had stepped out of the racing theatre for good after announcing his retirement following the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, the whispers began. And let’s be real, the Ricciardo story deserved a much bigger ending; now it looks like we’ll be seeing the Aussie legend back in the F1 paddock sooner than anyone expected.

Is Daniel Ricciardo Back In The Paddock Possible?

Now, Daniel Ricciardo has just teamed up with Ford Racing as their global ambassador, a role that sounds just as thrilling as anything he’s done behind the wheel. If you thought he’d fade into the shadows after Racing Bulls, think again. The guy’s already got his own corner in a brand new motorsport era. But what does this partnership mean for his old fans from the Formula 1 circuit?

Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies isn’t ruling outDaniel Ricciardo’s return to the paddock. In fact, Laurent Mekies is dropping some serious hints that Daniel might be popping up inside those iconic Red Bull garages thanks to Ford Racing’s fresh collaboration with the team. “It’s a family feeling to see Daniel getting back with Ford Racing as part of this adventure, it’s a great feeling,” Mekies told Sky Sports News. Translation? The Ricciardo-Red Bull connection is still alive and kicking.

“I think it’s one of the many examples in which we see how many connection points we have between our two companies, between the two projects. So it’s very exciting. I’m sure everybody will love to see Daniel back in the paddock, and we are going to perhaps going to have that sometimes thanks to Ford Racing.” he added

Ford Racing is set to make waves in next year’s F1 grid as Red Bull launches its own power unit in partnership with Ford. That means more collaboration, more celebrity cameos, and, if Mekies’ words mean anything, Daniel Ricciardo’s cheeky smile probably lighting up the pit wall on race weekends. Don’t be surprised if cameras catch him mingling with old teammates and sharing a laugh (or a Raptor R) with Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and, really, anyone and everyone.
