The audience is amped to witness the clash of India and Pakistan coming up on the 28th of this month. The rivals will face each other to move ahead in the Asia Cup. Last they clashed, the match went to Pakistan’s side as the Indian batting lineup dwindled in the face of the Pakistani pace attack.

Asia Cup provides a chance for India to redeem themselves in front of both the opposing team and the fans. Moreover, an early face-off with Pakistan will provide a chance for India to gauge the challenges ahead of the T20 World Cup. And an opportunity for Pakistan to get a grip before overlooking the refined potential threats from the now in-form Indian batters.

With the cricketing world guessing on the team with higher chances of winning, former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has also pitched in his opinion over the favorites to win this match.

Kaneria first discussed the potential injuries threatening players on both sides. “It is a bit early to say. I want to see KL Rahul’s form in the Zimbabwe series because he is coming back from injury. Then there is a question on Rohit Sharma who is recovering from his back injury. In the Pakistan team, Naseem Shah was limping around with his knee injury as well, and then Shaheen Shah Afridi’s fitness issue. There are few players from both sides who are on the injury list,” Kaneria explained.

Danish Kaneria reckons that India enjoys a slightly high chance of a win over Pakistan. “For now, India has that impact, they can come back because they have been playing a good amount of T20 cricket. So 60 percent to India and 40 percent to Pakistan. 60 percent to India because of their bowling strength,” Kaneria said.

“India’s spin bowling is good with world-class Ravichandran Ashwin, (Ravi) Bishnoi, (Yuzvendra) Chahal, (Ravindra) Jadeja. And fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh, who can do wonders for team India. Pakistan has to look into their bowling department, if there is no Shaheen Shah Afridi then who will be coming in for him is a question,” added Kaneria.
