DC W vs RCB W, WPL 2025: Delhi Capitals (DC) has set a target of 142 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to win. Batting first, Delhi’s innings was not good and the team was all out for 141 runs in 19.3 overs. For defending champion RCB, Renuka Thakur and Georgia Wareham took three wickets each and prevented Delhi from scoring big. For Delhi, Jemima Rodrigues scored the highest 34 runs in 22 balls. Apart from the partnership between Jemima and captain Meg Lanning, no other partnership could be formed for Delhi. Apart from Renuka and Georgia, Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht got two wickets each for RCB.
RCB captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss against Delhi Capitals in the WPL match and decided to bowl first. RCB had a good start against Delhi Capitals and gave them an early blow in the very first over. Shefali Verma lost her wicket in the very first over and Renuka Singh ended her innings by getting her caught by Smriti Mandhana. However, after this, there was a good partnership between Rodriguez and Lanning. Delhi had scored 55 runs for one wicket by the end of six overs. There was a partnership of 59 runs for the second wicket between Rodriguez and Lanning.
After the initial setback, RCB bowlers could not achieve any other success in the powerplay, but Delhi’s happiness could not last long. Delhi’s batting faltered and it lost five wickets for less than 100 runs. Delhi Capitals had managed to hold themselves on the strength of the partnership of Jemima Rodrigues and Meg Lanning after the dismissal of Shefali Verma, but after the powerplay both these batsmen lost their wickets and then the innings faltered. Jemima was out after scoring 34 runs with the help of four fours and two sixes in 22 balls, while captain Meg Lanning scored 17 runs with the help of three fours in 19 balls. Annabel Sutherland was out after scoring 19 runs and Jess Jonassen was out after scoring one run. At the same time, Sarah Bryce contributed 23 runs and Shikha Pandey contributed 14 runs.
