Dennis Lillee is one of the most well-known cricket players ever. In 1949, he was born in Subiaco, Western Australia. He played for the West Australian Cricket Club and represented Australia in Test and One Day Internationals. His quick bowling action and ability to hurl the ball at high speeds were well-known. He also led Australia in one Test match as captain. He is considered one of the best fast bowlers of all time and was one of the first to use the now-famous “slingshot” action.

During his international career, Lillee took 355 wickets in 70 Test matches for an average of 23.92. In 63 ODIs, he also got 103 wickets. In 1982, Wisden named him Cricketer of the Year; in 1994, he was inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. He was put in the ICC Hall of Fame in 2002.

He was also a successful coach. From 1984 to 1998, he led the Australian and Sri Lankan teams.
