Cricket’s Bangladesh Premier League is competed in by the Dhaka Dominators, a Twenty20 franchise squad that represents Dhaka. Dhaka Gladiators was the original moniker given to the team when it was formed in 2012 for the first season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which they went on to win in both 2012 and 2013. One of the teams that disbanded in 2013 after the conclusion of the second edition was the Gladiators. The team was then acquired by BEXIMCO Group and renamed the Dhaka Dynamites. The team’s path to victory has yet to be devoid of obstacles along the way. The Dominators initially needed help finding their footing in the intensely competitive BPL. As a result, they finished in the bottom half of the standings in each of their first two seasons. In contrast, the team experienced a remarkable turnaround in 2017, when they secured their position as one of the best teams in the league by coming in second place in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Since then, the Dhaka Dominators have shown that they can perform at a high level consistently, as seen by the fact that they have qualified for the postseason in each season and have reached the championship game three times. In 2019, they attained the pinnacle of accomplishment by being the first team in the history of the club to win the British Premier League championship.

Achievements:
- Only the Dhaka Dominators have reached five BPL finals, winning three. Success in the competition occurred in 2012, 2013, and 2017 for them. The 2018 and 2019 seasons ended with Dhaka participating in the finals.
- Dhaka Dominators scored their third-highest total of the year in their match versus Khulna Tigers in the 2020 BPL season. Dhaka scored a massive first-innings total of 205/4. However, they were unable to defend the championship successfully.
- Despite their name, the Dominators do not rely solely on homegrown players. Shakib Al Hasan, Chris Gayle, and Andre Russell are some notable international stars they boast. These individuals have been instrumental in the Dominators’ success thanks to their extensive skill sets and depth of experience.
