Diamond League Rome 2025: Storylines At Play, Event Schedule, Streaming Platforms

Diamond League Rome is one of the most prominent sports events that will be the centre of attraction in Italy. After hosting some of the big athletes in tennis, cycling, skateboarding and more, the city is set to host track and field disciplines. 

Taking place from June 6, Diamond League Rome will take place June 6 as the fifth qualifying event on the 15-meet 2025 Diamond League series. Actions will take place at the Olympic Stadium (Stadio Olimpico) where 11 Olympic champions and more than 60 overall medalists from the Olympics and World Athletics Championships will take part.  

Diamond League Rome 2025: Storylines to watch out  

Among the entries will be Italy’s Olympic high jump champion (Tokyo 2020) Gianmarco Tamberi, who is making his 2025 Diamond League debut and returning to action for the first time since winning the season-ending Diamond League high jump crown last September.

A star-studded line-up of Olympic gold medallists, including Beatrice Chebet, Quincy Hall, Gianmarco Tamberi, and Filippo Tortu will heat up the race.

Four Paris 2024 champions  Miltiadis Tentoglou, Hamish Kerr, Valarie Allman, and Thea LaFond will also be light up the field.

Fresh off topping a Diamond League record-breaking 3000m run at the Rabat Diamond League, Kenya’s double Olympic champion Chebet will be back on track for the women’s 5000m in Rome, looking for her third Diamond victory this season after dominating the same distance in Xiamen in April.

Nadia Battocletti is set to compete for the first time a high-level 5000m race at home in a major event since taking Olympic 10,000m silver in Paris, and Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay, the reigning 5000m world record holder also confirmed for her second Diamond League run after her second place behind Chebet in Xiamen.
