Valve has dropped a new update for Dota 2 named Spring Forward Update. This update was released on 22 May and it brings not only gameplay changes but also cosmetics and user experience changes.

If you play Dota 2 daily, then this update is going to be very useful for you. This update includes Gameplay Patch 7.39, 16 new cosmetic item sets, and many new quality of life features that make the game even smoother.

What’s New in Spring Forward Update?

1. Easy Item Buying System

Now buying and managing items has become even simpler:

  • You can track team items
  • You can mark important items for auto-buy and auto-deliver
  • Starting items display has become better – now you don’t have to forget to get Magic Wand and Ward
  • This system is best for those players who like to go with planning in the early game.

2. Communication Features Upgrade

Dota 2 now has better pings and in-game communication tools added:

  • More detailed tactical pings
  • Text status and minimap route display
  • Stun or effects will now be easily understood
  • This feature is helpful for those people who coordinate the game even without a mic.

3. Full Makeover of UI and Settings

In the game’s settings panel now:

  • Custom hotkeys option is more available
  • Option to filter or mute notifications is available
  • It is now possible to turn off voice chat and neutral item alerts
  • Now every player can set his gameplay experience in his own style.

4. Bonus Features for Dota Plus Users

Players who use Dota Plus are getting some extra benefits:

  • Smarter item suggestions
  • Better control of Buyback status
  • Improved pregame planning tools
  • Even if you are not a Dota Plus user, you will still find many changes.

5. Ability Draft Mode Update

Valve has also updated the Ability Draft mode. There are many new tweaks in Skills selection and balance. We will soon do a detailed analysis on this mode as well.
