On August 5, 2025, Valve surprised Dota 2 players with a brand-new in-game event called Quartero’s Curios. This update brought three completely free skins for Witch Doctor, Legion Commander, and Vengeful Spirit all unlockable by simply playing the game.

Players can earn XP from wins and losses across different modes to unlock these rewards. While this event doesn’t seem tied to The International 2025, it’s a fun way for players to stay engaged until the tournament’s official in-game content arrives. The event runs until November 5, 2025, giving everyone enough time to grab these free rewards and enjoy an all-new visual novel storyline that comes with it.

Free Skins for Witch Doctor, Legion Commander, and Vengeful Spirit

Quartero’s Curios offers three exciting new cosmetic sets that give these heroes fresh, stylish looks.

Witch Doctor: Papa Wanga Set

The beloved healer gets a coconut-themed upgrade in his Papa Wanga set. One coconut companion sits in his pocket, while another rests on top of his staff. Plus, his Death Ward now features a coconut soldier playing the flute, making this one of the most fun Witch Doctor skins to date.

Vengeful Spirit: Maledictions of Morrigan

This new skin gives Vengeful Spirit a shiny, metallic makeover. Her armor now features metal filigree details on her mask and belt. The giant pink gauntlet not only looks powerful but also adds pink particle effects to her projectiles. Even better, players can mix and match this skin with the Resurrection of Shen Arcana for a fully customized look.

Legion Commander: Drakon’s Ire

The highlight of this event is the Drakon’s Ire set for Legion Commander. It comes with two styles:

  • Base Style: Golden wings, a fierce metallic bull emblem, and a flaming spear loaded with dazzling particle effects.
  • Tier 2 Style: Players who reach level 100 in the event unlock an exclusive black, red, and metal version of the set making it one of the most eye-catching Legion skins in the game.

More Rewards in Quartero’s Curios

Apart from hero sets, this event brings extra cosmetic goodies:

  • Temporary visual effects for items like Radiance, Lotus Orb, Phase Boots, and more.
  • Quartero’s Antiques, which can be exchanged for a chance at old skin containers, immortals, or even arcanas.

This gives players a chance to not only collect new cosmetics but also revisit some classic Dota 2 treasures.

Why This Event Matters

Even though Quartero’s Curios isn’t linked to The International, it’s a big win for Dota 2 fans. It gives players fresh content, free cosmetics, and even a new storyline to explore through the visual novel feature. For long-time players, the addition of antique rewards makes this event even more exciting, offering another chance to grab items they might have missed in the past.

Don’t Miss Out

The Quartero’s Curios event is live now and will run until November 5, 2025. Make asure to play, earn XP, and collect as many rewards as you can before the event ends.

With free skins, exclusive visual effects, antique rewards, and a new visual novel, this is one of the most engaging Dota 2 events in recent memory and it’s completely free.
