Did Cole Palmer Just Inspire Drake’s New Album Name? Fans Think So.

Palmer, who cheekily gave himself the nickname Cold after bursting into superstardom with Chelsea, has been making waves on and off the pitch. After scoring in the 2024 Euros final and helping Chelsea lift the Club World Cup, the baller hasn’t just bagged trophies, he’s bagged celebrity clout too.

Whether it’s red carpets or rap circles, Palmer’s been spotted brushing shoulders with the elite. One now-famous event saw him vibing with none other than Canadian rap icon Drake, alongside British rapper Central Cee. The trio even featured in a clip posted by Cench himself.

But here’s where it gets icy.

Drake Drops “Iceman” With a Cole Palmer Clip?

Drake’s latest IG post, a collection of photos and videos, includes a specific clip of Palmer being asked: “If you were to be a rapper, what name would you go with?” To which Cole, calm as ever, replies: “Iceman.”

Now, just months later, Drake drops an album titled “Iceman”, his first solo project since 2023 and the whole Kendrick Lamar beef saga. Coincidence? Fans don’t think so.

Social Media Is Melting Down

As expected, the internet ran with it.

“There’s no way Drake’s album title is based on a Cole Palmer interview clip,” said one fan.

Another chimed in: “Was Iceman named Cole Palmer? I just saw the video of Drake, Central Cee, and Cole Palmer. Wow, man. My favourite ever artist and my second favourite footballer collaborating. I hope Cole is part of the rollout for the new album. That is superstar territory no other current player has reached.”

While some believe the Palmer clip is just part of Drake’s marketing playbook, others are convinced it’s deeper than that. Because let’s be honest, when Drake posts a video of Cole Palmer saying Iceman, and then names his album Iceman, it’s hard not to connect the dots.

Footballer. Rapper? Cultural Icon?

Whether Palmer directly inspired the album title or not, one thing’s for sure, he’s not just Chelsea’s talisman anymore. He’s moving in superstar circles few footballers ever reach.

And now, apparently, he might have just named a Drake album. Casual.
