Kolkata football giants East Bengal FC is set to make their debut at AFC Women’s Champions League 2025-26 from November 17.
East Bengal FC, who are in Group B, however, are not going to have a smooth ride in the tournament. They will begin their campaign with a match against the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC- a record 11-time domestic champions and quarter-finalists from the last season.
The group also features the People’s Republic of China’s Wuhan Jiangda WFC- five-time Chinese Women’s Super League winners and the reigning continental champions, having won the inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League edition held last season.
PFC Nasaf – record 16-time champions of the Uzbekistan Women’s League – are the fourth team in Group B, but like East Bengal, they will also be making their debut on the continental stage.
East Bengal, the 2024-25 Indian Women’s League (IWL) champions, reached the main draw after topping Group E in the preliminary stage ahead of Hong Kong China’s Kitchee SC and Cambodian side Phnom Penh Crown FC.

AFC Women’s Champions League 2025-26: Format
In the group stage, 12 teams have been divided into three groups of four. Each group will be played at a centralised venue and all Group B matches will be played at the Hankou Cultural Sports Centre from November 17 to 23, with Wuhan Jiangda playing hosts.
After the single round robin group stage, eight clubs – the top two from each group and the two best third-placed sides overall – will advance to the knockout round.
The quarter-finals- to be held in single leg- are scheduled for March next year, followed by the semi-finals and final from May 20 to 23.
