Ekta Bisht was born in India on Feb. 8, 1986.She bowls left-handed slow orthodox with an orthodox grip. She made history by becoming the first woman from Uttarakhand to compete in international cricket. She led the squad representing the North zone at Kumaon University as its captain.

In her early years, she was mentored by Liyakat Ali, who coached the Uttaranchal Women’s Cricket Association team from 2003 to 2006. She made it to the limelight with her exceptional bowling and wicket-claiming prowess. Bisht made her ODI debut for the Indian women’s cricket squad on July 2, 2011, against Australia.
