Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma will miss the game against England in the 5th rescheduled Test match. The last Test match of the series between India and England will be starting on 1st July. As skipper Rohit is unavailable for this game, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side in place of him.

It will be a big opportunity for Jasprit Bumrah to lead the Indian team in this 5th rescheduled Test match against England and that also in their home. England Test team is in a great run of form as they recently won the 3-match Test series against New Zealand in their home. English players clean-swept New Zealand with an amazing performance in all the games they played in this series.

England also announced their playing XI for this 5th Test against India. Meanwhile, BCCI was waiting for the updates from medical team on Rohit Sharma’s health. After the updates, BCCI confirmed that Rohit Sharma is ruled out from this Test. Despite having a former Indian captain in the side (Virat Kohli), BCCI decided to make pacer Jasprit Bumrah the captain.

“Mr Rohit Sharma, Captain, Indian Cricket Team is ruled out of the rescheduled fifth Test against England to be played from Friday. Rohit underwent a RAT Test on Thursday morning and returned a positive result for COVID-19,” said BCCI in their official statement.
