India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah credited his five-wicket haul in the third Test against England at Lord’s to the lessons he learned from his previous tour of the country.

On Day 2, Jasprit Bumrah was in top form, giving India crucial breakthroughs by dismissing Ben Stokes (44), Joe Root (104), and Chris Woakes (0) during the first session. He later went on to remove Brydon Carse, who made a valuable fifty, and Jofra Archer, earning himself a spot on the famous Lord’s Honours Board.
Reflecting on his performance, Bumrah said, “I thought about the slope on the last tour, it did not help. My lesson from that was not keep that in mind and I got the benefit of that. In these hot conditions, it is all about maximizing the new ball. It was not like that in the previous tour, that has been the major difference.”

An Emotional Milestone: Bumrah on the Honours Board
By putting past experiences to good use, Jasprit Bumrah made the most of the conditions, especially with the new ball, and played a big role in keeping India in control of the match.
Jasprit Bumrah couldn’t hide his joy after seeing his name go up on the iconic Honours Board at Lord’s — a moment he says he’ll proudly share with his son one day.
“Reality is I was tired. I can’t jump around like a 21-year-old. I was happy that I contributed. The name on the Honours board feels good. It is something I can tell my son about when he is grown up,” Jasprit Bumrah said with a smile.
His impressive 5-for-74 helped India bowl England out for 387. In reply, KL Rahul led the charge with a solid unbeaten 53, guiding India to 145/3 in 43 overs by the end of the day. After the quick dismissals of Karun Nair (40) and skipper Shubman Gill (16), Rahul and Rishabh Pant (not out on 19) steadied things with an ongoing 38-run stand for the fourth wicket.
