ENG vs SA: Marco Jansen wreaked havoc in Karachi. English batting was reduced to just 179 runs

ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ENG vs SA: An exciting match is being played today in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where the teams of England and South Africa are facing each other. Winning the toss and batting first, the England team has set a target of 180 runs in front of South Africa. 

ENG vs SA: England won the toss and chose to bat

In this match, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bat first, but his team had a very bad start. In the very first over, Marco Jansen dismissed Phil Salt for 8 runs. African bowlers dominated this match and England were all out for 179 runs in 38.2 overs.  

Archer was the top scorer for England after Joe Root

Joe Root scored 37 runs in 44 balls for England against South Africa. Let us tell you that after Root, England’s fast bowler Jofra Archer (31 balls, 25 runs) was the highest run scorer for England. 

Apart from Ben Duckett (24 runs, 21 balls) and Jos Buttler (43 balls, 21 runs), no other batsman could make a significant contribution and the team was all out for 179 runs. 

Mulder and Janson wreak havoc

South Africa’s bowlers performed brilliantly, especially Marco Jansen broke the back of England’s batting lineup. He took 3 wickets in the initial overs and pushed England on the backfoot. Apart from him, Wiaan Mulder took 3 wickets, Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi also took 1-1 wickets and stopped England’s batting lineup at 179 runs.
