“The 26-year-old, who had an operation in May to remove a bone fragment from his elbow, returned to play last month. As a part of his return-to-bowling program, he became aware of increasing discomfort in his elbow during the match for Sussex in the Vitality Blast and a 50-over friendly against Oxfordshire. The operation [was] not related to the stress fracture that sidelined the player previously”.

“He will now spend time on an extended break from cricket before returning for a medical review in early autumn”.

The England fast bowler Jofra Archer has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in the right elbow for the second time. The first time was I the tour of South Africa 2019/20 where he had to go after the end of one test. England management may think that the injuries that he sustained both times are completely unrelated. But it is evident to say that his constant push over 90mph is taking a heavy toll on his body.
