Esports Debut In Khelo India Youth Games 2025: Athletes To Play BGMI, Chess, Street Fighter 6

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 7th edition of Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) on May 4 (Sunday). The Games are being held across five cities in the state of Bihar. Few events will also be staged in the national capital New Delhi.

The Khelo India Youth Games have served as the launch pad for youngsters in the field of sports. The multi-sport event is held annually at national-level namely under-17-year-old school students and under-21 college students.

This year, Esports is also all set to make its debut as a demonstrative sport this year in 5 different game titles: BGMI, Chess, Street Fighter 6, eFootball Mobile & eFootball Console. The growing prominence of Esports and its inclusion at the Olympics have encouraged youngsters to take up online games.
