French defender Jules Kounde will be playing for FC Barcelona from this season as the verbal agreement between the clubs (FC Barcelona & Sevilla FC) has been reached for the centre-back. This transfer saga was running since two weeks which ended on Wednesday, 27th July.
Personal terms was never been a problem in this deal as the centre-back (Jules Kounde) always wanted to join FC Barcelona. According to Fabrizio Romano, FC Barcelona’s manager Xavi was the key factor in this deal as he had a chat with Jules regarding this transfer and convinced him to come to this club.
Kounde is joining Barcelona on a permanent deal and the terms of year haven’t been informed yet. The defender was also wanted by the Premier League club Chelsea and they already had a bid ready but the French central-defender waited for the Barca’s offer as he wanted this move rather than moving to the Premier League side. Chelsea have already started looking other options at centre-back position. Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana is one of the potential option Chelsea looking at currently. Once the medicals and all the paperworks will be signed, Kounde will be announced as a new Barcelona’s player.
