The FEI World Cup Finals 2025 will be hosted in the beautiful city of Basel, Switzerland. The event will take place from 2-6 April in St. Jakobshalle.
Horse riders will compete for prestigious titles in jumping, dressage, and vaulting. Three titles are in the offing: men’s individual, women’s individual and pas-de-deux (two women, two men or a mixed pair).
FEI World Cup Finals 2025 Basel: Athletes To Watch
Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann is the man to watch out for. He’s won the last two World Cup Finals with his trusty steed King Edward, first in Omaha (2023), then Riyadh (2024). Paris 2024 was a misstep that cost the pair the coveted Olympic gold. A win in Basel would complete the fabled hat-trick for world number one Von Eckermann.

Also in the mix are Britain’s Olympic champion Ben Maher, Germany’s young star Richard Vogel, and France’s Julien Epaillard, who stormed to victory at the Basel qualifier in January.
American Laura Kraut, who placed above both Maher and Fuchs in the Olympic individual competition at the Château de Versailles, could emerge as the dark horse at FEI World Cup Finals 2025.
In women’s categories at the FEI World Cup Finals 2025, defending champion Patrik Kittel of Sweden is out to continue defying that trend after claiming his first title in Riyadh.
The highlight will be equestrian legend Isabell Werth of Germany, who is the most decorated dressage rider in history. This will be her 26th appearance at a World Cup Final, having competed with nine different horses and five titles to her kitty.
In Basel, she’s going for number six. She is joined by a formidable team, including Bianca Nowag-Aulenbrock riding Florine OLD, who posted a personal best of 80.450 per cent, and Carina Scholz on Tarantino 5, runner-up in Madrid, who could shake up the leaderboard.
Another rider to watch out is Great Britain’s Charlotte ‘Lottie’ Fry, the Olympic bronze medallist. With triumphs in London, Amsterdam, and ’s-Hertogenbosch, she will be entering the Basel arena with confidence.
The format is simple at FEI World Cup Finals 2025: first, a Grand Prix with required movements in a fixed sequence. The top scorers move on to the Grand Prix Freestyle, where riders choreograph a unique routine to music.
