After 21 tournaments, the 2022 edition in Qatar will provide the world’s top teams one more shot at joining an exclusive group of champions. In 1930, Uruguay hosted the inaugural tournament or FIFA World Cup and ended up victorious. That tournament began with only 13 teams but has since grown to include 32 teams and the 2026 edition is expected to feature 48 countries. The increase in the number of countries is anticipated to provide more space for footballers from different countries to play with professionals and seasoned players.

The fever of Football has touched many countries and the growing number of teams in different countries has led to the need for increasing the number of countries who would be playing and competing together over the course of time.
