FIFA World Cup 2022: The Squad of Canada

According to the schedule, Canada will be facing Belgium in their opening match in ‘Group F’ on 23 November. Moreover, the team has been placed in Group F, along with other competitors like Belgium, Croatia and Morocco in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Since 1924, the Canada Men’s National Soccer team has been officially representing Canada at various Men’s International Soccer competitions at the senior men’s level. However, they are taken care of by the Canadian Soccer Association, and are said to compete in the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF). They are often recognised by the names like, Les Rouges (The Reds), Maple Leafs, (The Canucks), Les Voyageurs (The Voyageurs).

According to reports, the Canada Men’s National Soccer team’s some of the significant achievements have been achieving the 1985 CONCACAF Championship in order to qualify for the 1986 FIFA World Cup, and later winning the 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup for making it to the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup. However, Canada is considered as the only national team to win a Gold Cup aside from regional powerhouses, Mexico and the United States. Moreover, the team also registered a gold medal to their names during the 1904 Summer Olympics.

As per reports, the FIFA World Cup of 2022 will be Canada’s second appearance at a World Cup tournament. Furthermore, they are expected to host the FIFA World Cup of 2026, along with their co-hosts, United States and Mexico. With strong and competitive players by their side, the team is expected to showcase their potential and excellent skills. The team is expected to rise higher and provide a hardy competition to the other teams.
