FIFA World Cup Records and Statistics: Longest World Cup Winning Streak

The FIFA World Cup is so far considered as the most prestigious association football tournament. Moreover, in FIFA’s ranking system Brazil is said to hold the record for most “Team of the Year” first ranking wins with 13. And the Brazil team of 1970 has been considered as the greatest team of all time by various commentators, former players and experts. Later in 1996, the Brazilian national team achieved around 35 consecutive matches undefeated, a feat which they held as a world record for nearly 25 years. The longest World Cup winning streak is in the name of team Brazil. 

Team Brazil is perhaps said to hold the best overall performance in the World Cup competition, both in absolute and proportional terms, with a record of 76 victories in around 114 matches played, 129 goal difference, 247 points, and 19 losses. Furthermore, this is the only national team to have participated in all World Cup editions, without any absence nor need for playoffs.

Moreover, this team is currently led by their captain, Thiago Silva with players like Pele, Neymar, and others being the top-scorers.
