Most Successful Country in FIFA

At least 79 countries have participated in the 21 tournaments that have been conducted. 13 of these teams have advanced to the championship game, and eight of those teams have triumphed. With five championships, Brazil is the most successful World Cup team and the only country to have competed in every FIFA World Cup final competition. Italy and Germany both have four wins. The current champion France has two championships, along with prior winners Uruguay and Argentina, while England and Spain each have one. Brazil’s national team has won more World Cups than any other country. The Selecao has a record five titles, the most recent being in 2002 when a star-studded squad led by Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho beat Germany 2-0 in the championship game. The Germans, who have won the World Cup four times twice as West Germany and once again in 2014 as a united country come in second place on the list of most prosperous countries. 

The first country to win in two World Cups, Italy, has the same number of triumphs as Die Mannschaft, four. The first team to win the Jules Rimet trophy in 1930, Uruguay was the undisputed champion and went on to win another championship in an unexpected fashion in 1950. Argentina has also prevailed twice. Germany and Italy both have four championships. Argentina, France, and Uruguay have all won two championships. The FIFA World Cup has taken place in 17 different nations thus far. This massive event has been held twice in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, and Mexico.
