Wyatt has through numerous character variations and exudes originality in a way that is difficult to imagine in WWE. But that also makes trying it a ton of fun. At the conclusion of Extreme Rules, Wyatt made his eerie comeback, and soon after, PW Insider announced that he will only appear on SmackDown.
On paper, that immediately cuts in half Wyatt’s potential. He has superhuman powers, so it may have been amazing to see him transcend the confines of the WWE’s established laws and appear whenever and wherever he pleased.
But Wyatt won’t be severely constrained to a single brand, if that. This might be particularly true on SmackDown, where Logan Paul and Roman Reigns are now embroiled in a developing conflict. Reigns is still the undisputed champion. By letting Wyatt pursue titles, WWE virtually eliminates the possibility that they will mishandle him as they have in the past.
In any case, Wyatt feels that everything is up in the air following his initial few performances.
Given the long-standing relationships there, a potential feud with Braun Strowman is one matter that comes to mind right away. If there are two people who can come out of practically anything powerful in the minds of fans, it’s these two. It’s possible that WWE wants to keep them apart in order to avoid harming either with losses.
It’s also important to include Alexa Bliss. While WWE would need to bend certain rules to send her to SmackDown, there are a lot of loose ends there that are worthwhile pulling. Despite the treachery near the conclusion of Wyatt’s administration, the two have a rich history together.
Karrion Kross also stands out significantly. He has long since been on the periphery of whatever Reigns is up to. He can’t really do much, though, given the situation with Reigns as they wait for a potential Rock match at Wrestle Mania.
Even if Wyatt loses, having Kross serve as his main opponent will increase his exposure to fans, show off what he is capable of, and help him develop for the future.
