RCB pacer Yash Dayal has been arrested under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for serious charges of sexual exploitation in the name of marriage. The cricketer has been charged at the Indirapuram Police Station in Ghaziabad after a woman registered a complaint formally through the Chief Minister’s grievance portal (IGRS).
The offenses are under Section 69 of BNS, where it is illegal to have sexual relationships gained under fraud, such as false propositions of marriage or work. If found guilty, the victims could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for having fraudulent and exploitative acts.
The complainant states she had been in a five-year relationship with Yash Dayal, where she alleges she was:
Emotionally, physically, and economically exploited
Deceived by false marriage promises
Shown to Dayal’s family, further cementing her conviction about the relationship’s legitimacy
The woman claims that when she started questioning Dayal regarding marriage, his approach became violent and abusive, and the harassment persisted.
The FIR also mentions that Yash Dayal has further allegedly collected money from the woman during their relationship. She also indicated he had done the same thing with other women, indicating a pattern of exploitation and deception.
In support of her allegations, the woman has produced several types of documentary and digital evidence, including:
Chat logs and screenshots
Video call recordings
Photographs were taken during their time together
The matter is now being probed by the police of Ghaziabad.
As the FIR filed against Yash Dayal remains under the spotlight, the issue is likely to undergo official judicial examination. RCB or the BCCI has not made any statement on record so far about the allegations or Yash Dayal’s current status within the team.
With a solemn FIR lodged against Yash Dayal under BNS Section 69, the professional and legal future of the cricketer remains uncertain. The Ghaziabad police will now go through the evidence provided by the complainant, and further updates are to be expected with the development of the case.
