FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2024-25: Preview, Calendar, Events

The world’s best alpine skiers are set to compete in the 59th edition of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.

A total of 38 and 37 individual events are scheduled in the men’s and women’s calendar, respectively, with a majority of tech races (slalom, giant slalom – 21 and 20) compared to speed events (super-G, downhill – 17 for both genders).

The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2024- 25 will kick off on 26 October in Soelden, Austria, and conclude on 27 March with the Finals in Sun Valley, USA.

Switzerland’s Olympic champions Marco Odermatt and Lara Gut-Behrami will battle out to defend their overall titles in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2024-25.

FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2024-25: Calendar 

The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2024-25 season will disperse for a break from 4 to 16 February 2025 for the World Ski Championships in Saalbach, Austria, where the combined senior team event will make its debut ahead of Milano Cortina 2026.

In November and December, the tour will head to North America, including the traditional stops of Killington, Vermont (women), Beaver Creek, Colorado (men and women) in the U.S., and Tremblant, Alberta (women) in Canada.

In Europe, the calendar will feature the classic speed events at Gardena/Gröden, Italy; Garmisch, Germany; Adelboden, Switzerland; Kitzbuehel, Austria; and Cortina (where the women will ski on the Olympic slope) as well as the night slaloms in the Austrian resorts of Flachau and Schladming.

In March, Sun Valley, Idaho, will host the Finals becoming the first American ski resort to do so since Aspen in 2017.
