The Slovenian produced a phenomenal performance to clinch the title with a timing of 4 hours 50 minutes 15 seconds to make up for frustrating results at both Paris-Roubaix and the Amstel Gold Race.
Kévin Vauquelin of France took the second position 10 seconds behind Pogacar. Great Britain Tom Pidcock was third.
In the women’s race, Dutch Puck Pieterse clinched the title by finishing in 3:53:25 narrowly ahead of compatriot Demi Vollering who ended two seconds behind. Elisa Longo Borghini of Great Britain completed the top three.
