The FNCS Global Championship 2025 is almost here, and this year the big stage is set at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines, France. After three regional Majors, only 33 of the world’s best Fortnite teams have made it this far, each chasing the dream of becoming world champions. But all eyes are on two familiar names: Peter “Peterbot” Kata and Miguel “Pollo” Moreno.
Last year, these two players dominated together as a duo. This year, they are split into different trios and leading rival teams. Both are chasing history, as no player has ever won the FNCS Global Championship twice. Can either Peterbot or Pollo break that streak in 2025?
FNCS Global 2025: Peterbot vs Pollo In Finals
The New Format: Trios Take the Spotlight
For the first time, FNCS has switched from duos to trios. This big change forced many legendary duos to split and join new squads. While the new format has created plenty of surprises, it has also brought out two clear frontrunners Team Peterbot and Team Pollo.
Team Peterbot: The Favorites
Peterbot’s squad is being called the team to beat this season. Alongside him are Ritual and Cold, a powerful pair who already proved themselves by winning the Esports World Cup 2024. Ritual even earned the MVP award there.
Their 2025 run has been almost flawless:
- 2nd place at Major 1
- 1st place at Major 2
- 1st place at Major 3
This level of consistency makes them the clear favorites heading into the global finals.
Team Peterbot lineup:
- Peter “Peterbot” Kata
- Joshua “Cold” Butler
- Maguire “Ritual” Morton
Team Pollo: The Strong Challengers
If not for Team Peterbot, Team Pollo would probably be everyone’s top pick. Led by Pollo, the 2024 world champion, this squad has the perfect mix of experience and firepower. Canadian star Acorn brings veteran skill, while Ajerss adds explosive young talent.
Their results prove they are serious contenders:
- 1st place at Major 1 (NA Central)
- 2nd place at Major 3
If they can overcome Team Peterbot in France, Pollo could become the first player to win back-to-back world titles.
Team Pollo lineup:
- Miguel “Pollo” Moreno
- Abdullah “Acorn” Akhras
- Aidan “Ajerss” Bernero
Other Teams to Watch
While the battle between Peterbot and Pollo is the main storyline, there are other teams who could spoil the party. Team Veno, Team Queasy, Team Pixie, and Team PabloWingo all have the skills to challenge at the top. And of course, we can’t forget Kami and Setty, the Polish duo who won the FNCS Invitational 2022. If they win here, they too could become the first repeat world champions.
Prize Pool and Format
The FNCS Global Championship 2025 features a massive prize pool of $2,001,000. The format is straightforward but intense:
- 12 total matches across two days (September 6 and 7)
- 6 matches each day
- Points awarded for eliminations and placement
At the end, the team with the highest overall score is crowned world champion.
