Michael Vaughan the former England captain got thrashed for his witty comment on Twitter. England’s former cricketer has gained a reputation for making cheeky tweets. It was on Sunday and also the final day of the Nottingham Test, where he made another witty remark about the rain delay in the Nottingham Test.
But according to how the match was poised on day 4 of the test match, India was certainly looking in a better situation than England. India just needed 157 runs on the final day with 98 overs to go in a test match in order to win the first test in Nottingham against England. They have nine wickets in hand, but just losing the wicket at the end of day 4. But rain interrupted the start of the play on day5 which made the former England cricketer give such a cheeky comment.
“Looks like rain may be saving Indian here”, the former England cricketer wrote on Twitter with a smiley.
Michael Vaughan said in a podcast earlier that if India loses quick wickets on Day 5. It might create panic and put India in trouble.
Michael Vaughan said “India is on top. They are the favorites, but you just never know. We have seen this England team before, we have seen this Indian team in English conditions, chasing down this kind of number and losing a few wickets and they start to panic”.
He further added by saying that “You say the pitch has to deteriorate so much and it can. Sometimes it can happen. The clouds might roll in. The ball starts hooping around”.
India was 52/1 in the second innings on stumps at the end of day4, where Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma continue on day 5. Rain was expected to a big role in determining the result of the test match. Both team fans wanted to see clear weather in the test match on Sunday to reach its natural conclusion.
