The world’s top freeskiers are set to glide in Austria as they battle for the first points of the new World Cup season.
The first slopestyle event of the 2024-25 FIS World Cup season will take place from 20-23 November at the Stubai Zoo Snowpark in Stubai, Austria.
The competition will see 90 athletes from 22 countries in contention for valuable World Cup and Olympic qualification points for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
The field at the Stubai World Cup consists of elite freeskiers with a number of Olympic, world, and X-Games champions set compete.
2024 FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai: Skiers to watch out for
The men’s field is studded with star skiers. 2022 Big Air Olympic champion Birk Ruud will seek a third Stubai title after victories in 2021 and 2022.
Beijing 2022 champion Alex Hall and 2023 X-Games Big Air gold medallist Mac Forehand headlines strong American contingent.
Sweden’s legendary Jesper Tjäder, a slopestyle Olympic bronze medallist at Beijing 2022, is another big name in the contest.
In the women’s field, Bejing Olympics 2022 bronze medallist and four-time X-Games slopestyle champion Kelly Sildaru is also aiming for her third Stubai victory after wins in 2018 and 2021.
Estonian faces a stiff challenge from Beijing 2022 gold medallist Mathilde Gremaud – who also won the world slopestyle title in 2023. She enters the competition on the back of winning the women’s Freeski Big Air World Cup in Chur back in October.
