Zimbabwe Vs South Africa: The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has announced an important two-match Test series against South Africa. The series will start on June 28 in Bulawayo.
Both Test matches will take place at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. This series will happen after the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final in 2025.
The Proteas will visit Zimbabwe for a two-Test match series beginning on June 28. This series is called the ‘Battle of the Limpopo’ between the two teams.
The first Test match between Zimbabwe and South Africa will be held at Queens Sports Club from June 28 to July 2. The second Test match will take place from July 6 to July 10.
Recently, the Chevrons played a single Test match in England but lost by an innings and 45 runs. Craig Ervine will lead the Chevrons in the red-ball format.
Zimbabwe will play South Africa in Test cricket for the first time in seven years. The last match was a one-off Test in South Africa in 2017-18.
So far, Zimbabwe and South Africa have played only six Test series. The last two-Test series was in 2004-05, when South Africa toured Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has never won or drawn a Test match against South Africa.
No, this tour will not affect South Africa’s points in the World Test Championship 2025-27. The ICC has already set South Africa’s official WTC schedule, which includes three home series (against Australia, England, and Bangladesh) and three away series (in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka). The Zimbabwe tour is not part of the WTC cycle.
