This will be the third of the stops in the series after Kingston and Miami. With only two meets left, athletes will be looking to improve their rankings to win the overall title.

Grand Slam Track Philadelphia: Athletes to watch

The Grand Slam Track has some of the world’s most elite athletes batting out.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone- Women’s short hurdles (110m hurdles/100m flat)

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone secured four straight victories in the first two meets of the season. However, for Philadelphia, the 400m hurdles world record holder took the bold decision to step down a category, racing in a combination of 110m hurdles and 100m flat, instead of her favoured one-lap distances

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden– Women’s short sprints (100m/200m)

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden sits first in the category but also second in the overall standings that combine all race groups. With a total of 42 points compared to McLaughlin-Levrone’s 48, Philadelphia could offer the American the chance to rise to the top of the women’s ‘Racer of the Year’ table – particularly as McLaughlin-Levrone is entering uncharted waters in the short hurdles group.

Kenny Bednarek- Men’s short sprints (100m/200m)

USA’s Kenny Bednarek has been in a sensational form at the Grand Slam Track series so far. With four wins from four races, the two-time Olympic 200m silver medallist leads the overall ‘Racer of the Year’ table, although he is joint on points with Brazil’s Alison Dos Santos, who competes in the long hurdles category.
