The World Aquatics Championships is set to be held in Singapore from 11 July to 3 August and swimmers from around the world are ready to take the plunge.
Great Britain have announced their 28-member contingent for the Worlds, balancing a mix of new talents and experienced veterans.
The team was selected based on the performances of the swimmers at the recently concluded Aquatics GB Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Centre from 15-20 April, the sole qualifier for the Worlds.
Duncan Scott, who has eight Olympic medals, including two gold, will headline the Australian squad in the competition.
Tom Dean, James Guy and Matt Richards, Scott’s fellow double gold medallists in the 4x200m freestyle relay from France and Tokyo 2020 will take part in the World Aquatics Championships 2025.
Ben Proud, the silver medallist in the 50m free at Paris 2024, his third Olympic Games, was also pre-selected.
Freya Colbert, the world champion in the 400m IM from Doha, and fourth-place finisher in Paris, finds a spot in the team as does the world silver medallist in the equivalent men’s event, Max Litchfield.
Abbie Wood, who finished fifth in the women’s 200m IM final in Paris, and helped the squad to a silver medal in Doha in the 4x200m free relay, was also selected on that basis, as was promising newcomer, Eva Okaro, a Paris 2024 Olympian.
