The World Boxing Challenge Grand Prix is set to take place in Usti Nad Labem, Czechia from June 10 through June 15.
The Sportovni Hala Sluneta will host 183 boxers from 23 countries, promising an exciting three days of action. This is the second big international event after the World Boxing Cup in Brazil earlier this year.
GB Boxing have sent a team of nine boxers to compete in this year’s Grand Prix tournament in Usti nad Labem. This include five women and four men.
Charley Davison (54kg) marks her return to a high-level competition for the first time since competing in her second Olympic Games at Paris 2024. Kerry Davis (75kg) is also set to return to the ring.
Lucy Kings-Wheatley (60kg) last featured at the Gee Bee in April last year where she won a bronze medal whilst for Davis, her last outing came at the World Boxing Cup event held in Sheffield back in January of 2024 where she too earned bronze.
Alice Pumphrey (51kg) and Ella Thompstone (65kg) step into the ring fresh off winning National Amateur Championships held in April.
Leo Wood (60kg) is set to make his debut following his success in reaching the semi-final stages of the European U23 Championship in October of last year.
Completing the GB squad at World Boxing Challenge Czechia is Scottish duo Aaron Cullen (55kg) and Isa Akram (60kg) as well as England’s Callum Makin (70kg).
