Women’s National Boxing Championship: The stage is set for exciting action as around 300 of India’s top women boxers will compete for national glory at the 8th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship. The event will be held at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida from March 21-27.
The 8th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship
Organized in partnership with the UP Boxing Association, the tournament returns to the same venue that successfully hosted the last edition in 2023. Following the rules of the World Boxing and Boxing Federation of India (BFI), the championship is open to boxers born between January 1, 1984, and December 31, 2005.

Event Schedule: What to Expect and When
Each state can have up to 10 boxers, with entries closing on March 10 and final name confirmations due by March 15.
The event will officially start on March 20 with the arrivals, draw, and technical meeting. The opening rounds will be held from March 21 to 24, followed by the quarterfinals on March 25 and the semi-finals on March 26, leading up to the much-awaited finals on March 27.
“The Elite Women’s National Championship have been a breeding ground for future champions, giving young talents a chance to test themselves against the best. As the first nationals in the new Olympic preparation cycle, this edition will be crucial in identifying and grooming boxers for the next three years,” said BFI Secretary General Hemanta Kumar Kalita.
The tournament will have a three-round format, with each round lasting three minutes and a one-minute rest in between. The ten-point scoring system will be used, and all matches will follow World Boxing Technical & Competition Rules. Boxers will also need to weigh in daily during the competition.
In addition to the 300 boxers, the championship will also have over 100 coaches and support staff, along with 60 technical officials, ensuring a high-quality boxing event.
Who Will Reign Supreme? The Battle for National Glory
Defending champions Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) will aim to keep their title after a strong performance in the last edition, where they won five gold medals, one silver, and two bronze.
RSPB beat Haryana by eight points, with Haryana finishing second, winning seven medals, including three golds, three silvers, and one bronze.
