Picked up by the team as an injury replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mhatre seized his moment in the high-pressure. CSK made their highest total of IPL 2025 with the help of Dewald Brewis’ half-century knock of 57 runs in 23 balls.

Though he got out early at 34 off 17 balls by Prasidh Krishna, who has been the best bowler of the tournament so far.

Ball 2: 6 over long-on – clean and confident.
Ball 3: 6 more, this time flat and fast.

Ball 6: 6 over fine leg – a perfect end to a controlled over.
