With every new Grand Theft Auto release, fans expect Rockstar Games to push the limits of realism, fun, and creativity. But not every feature from GTA Online deserves to return in GTA 6. While the online mode has given players countless hours of entertainment, it also introduced some frustrating gameplay mechanics that made missions feel repetitive or unrealistic.

As GTA 6 moves closer to release, here are five GTA Online features that should stay behind and how Rockstar can make the next game even better.

1) Constantly Respawning Enemies

One of the biggest annoyances in GTA Online is how enemy NPCs seem endless. Even after players clear out an area, enemies respawn again within seconds. This breaks immersion and makes missions drag on unnecessarily.

In GTA 6, Rockstar should make enemy respawns more realistic. Once an area is cleared, it should stay clear for a while. This would make every gunfight feel more rewarding and give players a stronger sense of progress instead of frustration.

2) Long Driving Missions with No Dialogue

Many GTA Online missions require players to drive across the entire map in slow, bulky vehicles often without any dialogue or action to keep things interesting. These long drives feel like filler content and can ruin the pacing of the game.

GTA 6 should fix this by either shortening these long driving segments or adding more interactive or story-driven dialogue during the trip. Another great option would be allowing players to skip long drives after completing them once.

3) Unrealistic Health Regeneration Using Snacks

In GTA Online, players can instantly heal by eating snacks during combat. It’s quick and convenient, but it completely removes the challenge from intense firefights. Instead of feeling like survival, battles turn into snack-eating contests.

For GTA 6, Rockstar should focus on a realistic health system. Players could use medical kits, bandages, or injections to recover health, adding tension and strategy during fights. This would also fit better with the grounded tone fans expect from the next GTA game.

4) Overpowered Futuristic Vehicles

GTA Online gradually moved away from realism with the introduction of flying bikes, weaponized cars, and hover vehicles like the Oppressor Mk. II. While they were fun at first, these futuristic vehicles ruined balance and encouraged griefing, making the game less enjoyable for casual players.

GTA 6 should return to realistic vehicle designs. Instead of flying bikes and rockets, Rockstar could focus on powerful but believable cars, bikes, and boats. Keeping things grounded would restore the classic GTA experience fans love.

5) Long, Unskippable Cutscenes

GTA Online often forces players to watch long cutscenes especially when buying properties or starting new missions. They look great the first time, but after that, they become repetitive and time-consuming.

GTA 6 should include an option to skip or shorten cutscenes, even during the first playthrough. Another creative solution could be adding interactive cutscenes, where players must perform small actions or make choices to progress, keeping the story engaging while avoiding boredom.
