In WPL 2023, Gujarat Giants won by 11 runs while defending a score of 201/7 in their first match against the Smriti Mandhana-led team, while in the second match, Royal Challengers Bangalore chased the target of 189 runs with 27 balls to spare, losing only 2 wickets. In that match, Sophie Devine played a blistering innings of 99 runs off 36 balls for RCBW, which is also the highest innings played by any batsman in WPL history.
