Harbhajan Singh Praises KL Rahul’s Remarkable Comeback with Stunning Century

Former Indian spin maestro, Harbhajan Singh, expressed his deep admiration for KL Rahul’s outstanding century against Pakistan during the Asia Cup Super Four match. Singh emphasized the challenges of returning from an injury and lauded Rahul’s memorable comeback performance.

On the reserve day, the Indian team achieved an imposing total of 356/2, their highest-ever score against Pakistan in One Day Internationals (ODIs). A significant contribution to this score was KL Rahul’s brilliant return to international cricket, as he elegantly scored an unbeaten 111 runs from 106 balls. Virat Kohli also showcased his remarkable skills, scoring an unbeaten 122 runs from just 94 balls.

Harbhajan Singh, speaking on his YouTube channel, particularly praised KL Rahul’s shot against Shadab Khan, where he expertly used his wrists to direct the ball towards midwicket, considering it the standout shot of the match. He also commended Kohli’s six off the last ball of the innings.

Harbhajan acknowledged the immense difficulty of making a comeback after an injury and highlighted Rahul’s excellent performance as a testament to his skill and determination. He noted India’s complete dominance in the match, with the bowlers struggling to challenge the Indian batsmen.

The total of 356 runs by India equalled their highest score against Pakistan in ODIs, matching the record set in Vizag in 2005. It also stands as the ninth-highest total achieved against Pakistan in men’s ODIs and the highest-ever total against Pakistan at a neutral venue in ODIs.

Harbhajan Singh expressed doubt that Pakistan could have successfully chased down such a massive target, emphasizing that India’s batting display was exceptional.

He praised Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill for setting a strong foundation at the beginning of the innings and expressed hope that this form would continue into the upcoming World Cup.
